What to do First?

Apply for EPBR Membership

Applying for the Eastern Panhandle Board of Realtors is your first step upon passing your real estate exam. ERA Liberty is a member of the Board and all of our agents must join as well.

Board Membership

Application fee is $200. Board dues are prorated so you must call in to get what you owe prior to completing the application!

Send a Copy of your License

A copy of your active license must be emailed along with the Board application. Email to Make sure the office staff also have a copy of your license on file. 

Schedule Trainings

Once your application is approved, you will recieve a letter with dates of classes and trainings that are required by the Board - Sentrilock training and your new member orientation class. The letter will also contain your NRDS Number, which will be used to create an account on the MLS (Multi-Listing Service). 

Create a CE Broker Account

CE stands for Continuing Education. These are courses that are mandatory for real estate agents that have to be taken each year. You need 7 hours total for WV. Every few years you will need a Code of Ethics course. Your CE Broker account keeps track of your courses and what you still need to take each year. 

*New agents DO NOT need to take CE. They are exempt for their first year. 

You will need your licnese number to create the account.

The Multi-Listing Service is your one stop shop for viewing, scheduling tours, adding listings, and more! You will need to register as an Agent. Our office code is ELIB2.

$120/Quarter + $250 One-time Activation Fee


Tell us about yourself

Fill out this About You questionaire so we can make a bio for you! If you would rather write one yourself go ahead. Use a third person format. Form goes directly to Amy.

Give us a photo of yourself or a professional headshot

This image has to be at least 300ppi, this will ensure it be a large image. Ask the offic about getting a headshot completed for free. 

Get business cards made

You must have your name, broker name, title of salesperson, your contact info (name, phone, email, website), brokerage info.

Get a domain name for your real estate business

Domain names, or vanity URLS, can be an easy to remember phrase like or [your name] They can be pricey, so shop around for deals!

Give Us your Info

We need to know about you! What are your hobbies, what was your past profession, cats or dogs? Along with a bio, we will need a good photo or headshot of you for your marketing. You should also consider purchasing a vanity URL. These come in handy when creating your business card and other marketing marterials. 

Get your Social Media accounts setup

You should have a business account (or an account just for business) for every social media platform that you feel comfortable using. Keep the work away from the personal!

Let's Get Training

We don't skimp on the training at ERA Liberty! The more you know about your real estate tools then the better prepared you are to handle anything. We can sit down one-on-one or host group training sessions where new and seasoned agents alike can learn from one another. 

You will be given a sheet to hold you and your trainier accoutable for the courses you have covered. 

Our admin staff does the in-office training for new and seasoned agents - no outsourcing here! 

Typically we like for agents to block out at least 3 hours per training. This is for if there are a lot of questions, they want to play around in the program for a bit, or for conversation.

Trainings are done when the agent is ready to get started. Some are better to be done closer toegther than others. Trainings are catered to the agents current needs - what program would benefit them the best first.

Get Your Signage

Your signage is a large part of your marketing efforts! You can have horizonal or veritcal signs. You can have sign riders, text riders, or just the insert. You can customize or leave it more simple. The office provides you with the basic insert and frame. If you wish for something more then you will have to create and pay for it. 

Anatomy of a Sign

Insert - Main part of sign, the area where the logo, broker name, address, and phone is housed.

Rider - Smaller sign that goes in the top part of the frame. Can have your name and number.

Text Rider - Small sign with a code or keyword to text to a specific number. Lead capture technique.

*ERA ,as a franchise, has discounts available if you go through specific sites to create your signs. They all should have the proper specifications preloaded since they are partnering with the ERA brand. Vital Signs is a local shop and will need specifications from you for signage creation.
