Everytown has their niche places that you can only find there. The Eastern Panhandle is comprised of beautiful parks, historical landmarks, and rolling countryside. There are also a handful of unique stores! There are a ton, but we wanted to point out just a few for your next trip to wild and wonderful West Virginia!
Shepherdstown Pedal & Paddle
Shepherdstown Pedal & Paddle is a full-service bike store for both biking enthusiasts and biking beginners. What drops it in the unique stores category is that you can also rent kayaks and canoes. The staff will set you up with a bike to ride down the C&O Canal, then meet you at the end point to pass you a kayak to paddel back. Hence, the name, get it? Simply Devine
Simply Devine is a unique store located on the outskirts of Martinsburg. It is a great place to buy household items, but not your typical items like in the local Wal-Mart. Undoubtedly, you will find scented candles and soaps, as well as unique jewelry, crafts, and food items created by local artisans. You can find items as diverse as apple butter, furniture, clothings, and more inside. Make sure you say hello to the shop cat – if you can find him! If you can’t make it out to the Simply Devine, you can venture online for specials and shipping deals.
The Outfitter
This hiking store in Harpers Ferry is staffed by pros that are hikers themselves. They offer a variety of hiking gear, as well as services ranging from bike rentals, equipment repair, and more. There is even a stream that runs through the store basement! They’re conveniently located just 200 feet off the Appalachian Trail. Visit them on Facebook!
